The OX turns down Chelsea hoping for Liverpool move – Liverpool immediately make bid Alex Oxlade Chamberlain made his intentions of wanting to leave Arsenal clear when he turned down a £180,000 a week contract to stay. Now with only 11 months left on his contract the ball is firmly in his court as he can leave on a free transfer next summer. Since Monday Chelsea have made a £35M bid for the Ox which was accepted by the gunners. However, Oxlade Chamberlain turned down the move because Chelsea wanted to play him at wing back as oppose to his proffered central midfield position. After news broke last night that the Ox had turned down a move to Chelsea Liverpool made a bid of £30M which was rejected by Arsenal. It’s unclear whether Liverpool will match the £35M that Arsenal want but whether it is today or tomorrow it looks likely that the Ox won’t be a gunner for much longer.
