footballcrazy is a free-to-use UK-based football (soccer) social media networking and discussion platform based near London in England. It was launched in early 2017 with a basic set of features. A soft launch was done at the end of March 2017.
The founders had initially only limited the website’s membership to their friends and family. However, they later expanded it to include all football fans, players, coaches, managers, etc. in fact, to anyone who has an interest in football and wishes to have a voice. Anyone aged 13 and older is allowed to become a registered user of footballcrazy.
footballcrazy can be accessed over the internet by a large range of desktop PCs, laptops, tablets, and smartphones. After a user has registered to use the site, they can create a profile with their name, country, language, etc. Users can add other users as “friends”, send and receive private messages, post status updates and digital photos and videos, and receive notifications when other users update their profiles or create posts. Users may also join football user groups such as can be found in the TeamZone and GameZone, and other zone parts of the website. In addition, users can report, complain about or block undesirable posts or persons. Because of the large data volumes that users can submit to the service, footballcrazy continually makes regular updates to it’s privacy policies. footballcrazy intends to make most of its revenue from advertising, subscriptions, and it’s marketplace in the future.
footballcrazy is a privately held company. footballcrazy intends to be the premier football social media website in the world. Currently, the website is focusing it’s efforts on rolling out it’s services in Europe and North America only. Future releases may incorporate South America and Asia. footballcrazy categorises users from the ages of 13 to 18 as minors.
